Find out how collaborative articles LinkedInpowered by AI and enriched by experts, redefine professional collaboration and boost your visibility

LinkedIn Collaborative Articles mark a revolution in the way experts share their knowledge and interact with the professional community. With the introduction of this innovative feature, LinkedIn is relying on artificial intelligence and the expertise of its members to create rich, engaging content. Discover how this new feature is transforming the LinkedIn ecosystem and what it brings to professionals.

A new era of collaborative content

LinkedIn's collaborative articles are the result of a bold vision: to create conversation starters enriched by artificial intelligence, to which experts can add their personal touch. This initiative enables the platform to develop a content more targeted and relevant to its members.

The idea is simple but powerful: LinkedIn uses its IA to identify key themes related to the various business lines, then invites recognized experts to contribute. These professionals add their unique perspectives, real-life examples and experiences, creating high value-added content.

Each collaborative article begins as an AI-generated draft, developed with the LinkedIn editorial team. Then, carefully selected experts are invited to enrich this content. These contributions make the articles more lively and interactive, while stimulating conversation within the community.

LinkedIn's goal: to put AI to work for experts

According to Sandrine Chauvin, LinkedIn's Global Editorial Director, artificial intelligence plays a key role in this strategy. By targeting relevant topics and encouraging experts to participate, LinkedIn seeks to reinforce its positioning as the reference platform for quality professional content.

Dan Roth, Editor-in-Chief of LinkedIn, points out that these articles aim to solve a major problem: it's often more difficult to initiate a conversation than to participate in it. Collaborative articles therefore act as triggers, enabling professionals to come together around key topics, without barriers or constraints.

This content covers a wide range of topics, from general topics such as leadership and digital transformation, to very specific areas. This targeted approach enables us to cover a wide range of professions while remaining relevant to each segment.

Experts at the heart of the strategy

To contribute to LinkedIn collaborative articles, experts receive a notification inviting them to add their ideas. A dedicated section allows them to write a concise contribution (between 125 and 750 characters). This limit ensures clear, high-impact contributions.

In return for their participation, these experts can earn the prestigious "Community Top Voice" badge. This badge, which appears on their profile, is a distinctive sign highlighting their contribution and expertise in a specific field.

However, this recognition is not permanent. Valid for 60 days, the badge must be "renewed" through continued participation. In this way, LinkedIn encourages its members to remain active and continue exchanging ideas.

What are the benefits for members?

This initiative offers numerous benefits to professionals registered on the platform. Firstly, LinkedIn's collaborative articles enable members to boost their credibility by sharing their knowledge with a wide audience. This is an ideal opportunity for those wishing to position themselves as opinion leaders in their sector.

Secondly, these articles promote increased visibility. By being cited in collaborative content, experts benefit from the exposure offered by LinkedIn through its algorithm. Articles are highlighted in users' feeds, accompanied by a mention indicating the number of contributors.

Finally, participation in these articles creates unique networking opportunities. By sharing views and interacting with other experts, members can expand their network and make valuable connections.

Limits but enormous potential

Despite its many advantages, this feature is not without its limitations. At present, it is only accessible to a limited number of users, which could lead to frustration among members wishing to participate. What's more, the limited duration of "Community Top Voice" badges forces experts to participate regularly to maintain their status.

However, these LinkedIn collaborative articles represent a major step forward in leveraging community contributions on a professional platform. By combining artificial intelligence with human expertise, LinkedIn demonstrates its ability to innovate while remaining focused on the needs of its users.
